Jerzy Butryn

Bass

The Polish bass Jerzy Butryn has received praise for his performances in the Grand Théâtre de Genève and the Teatro Regio di Parma and at the St Gallen Festival and Glyndebourne Festival. His repertoire includes the title role in Boito’s Mefistofele, Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni, Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor, and the Four Villains in Les Contes d’Hoffmann. In the 2024-2025 season, he made his debut at the Royal Opera as Timur in Turandot and he sang Totsky in Weinberg’s The Idiot at the Salzburg Festival. He recently made his debut as Filippo II in Don Carlo at Wrocław Opera and sang Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte at the Polish National Opera.
