Laura Roling

Dramaturge

Laura Roling studied Classics and English at the University of Amsterdam. After graduating, she wrote articles on opera, music and theatre for various media. She also worked for various theatre and dance companies in the Netherlands and she is an adviser to the Performing Arts Fund. Since 2020, she has worked at Dutch National Opera as a dramaturg. She collaborated for example with Steef de Jong on Operetta Land (2022), with Mart van Berckel on Oedipus Rex (2024), with Nanine Linning on Antigone (2024), with Kenza Koutchoukali on The Four Note Opera (2024) and with Philip Venables and Ted Huffman on the world premiere of We Are The Lucky Ones.

Laura Roling is the dramaturge for Operetta Land, which will be performed from 5 to 23 October 2025 at Dutch National Opera & Ballet. In the same role, she is also working on Simon Boccanegra, which will be performed from 4 to 28 June 2026.
