Leonardo Moyano Ortiz
Leonardo Moyano Ortiz was born in Madrid and began studying the violin at the age of six. He was later admitted to the Victoria de los Ángeles Conservatorio Profesional de Música, where he specialised in both piano and violin. He went on to study Orchestral Conducting at Musikene – Higher School of Music of the Basque Country, and continued his training at the Manhattan School of Music in New York. Alongside his musical education, he also pursued a degree in Psychology.
Moyano Ortiz actively collaborates with composers in the creation and development of new productions. In his repertoire he has performed complete operas such as Die Zauberflöte, Le nozze di Figaro, Nabucco, Rigoletto, and Aida. He has been awarded first prizes at the Jacinto Guerrero Competition, the Veguellina Competition, and the Mozart Competition.
From the 2023–2024 season, Moyano Ortiz was part of the opera studio programme at Palau de les Arts in Valencia. In the 2025–2026 season, he will join Dutch National Opera Studio in Amsterdam.
