Meisje Barbara Hummel

Meisje Barbara Hummel studied opera direction at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin. From 1989 to 2006, she was the assistant director and head of stage direction at Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden. She has produced her own stagings of works including Undine, La vie parisienne and Eine Nacht in Venedig. As of 2006, she has been an assistant director and the coordinator of the directing staff at Dutch National Opera. As a rehearsal director, she has rehearsed international productions by various directors. She teaches drama at the Amsterdam Conservatoire and at Dutch National Opera Studio.
