Silke Willrett

Costume designer

Silke Willrett studied costume design and art history at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart. Since 2001, she has worked as a freelance set and costume designer for opera houses including Staatsoper Berlin, Oper Frankfurt, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Zurich Opera House, Vienna State Opera, Opera Vlaanderen and La Monnaie. She has worked with such directors as Christof Nel, Andrea Breth, Hendrik Müller, Jan Essinger and Tatjana Gürbaca. Willrett is a member of the German Academy of the Performing Arts. She is also active as a fine artist in the Linienscharen group. At Dutch National Opera, she has previously designed the costumes for Prokofiev’s The Gambler (2013) together with Marc Weeger.
