My Muse & Me is looking for a new board member for the social team!

Who are we?

My Muse & Me is the youth programme of Dutch National Opera & Ballet in Amsterdam. We open the doors of opera and ballet to everyone aged 16 to 35 and introduce you to the magic on and behind the stage. For around 2,000 members, we organise activities, behind-the-scenes events and offer discounts on performances. In this way, we help to lower the threshold and make opera and ballet accessible to young people.

The board of My Muse & Me consists of seven enthusiastic volunteers – ambitious students and young professionals – and is supported by Dutch National Opera & Ballet. The board meets once a month and hosts various activities during the theatre season at My Muse & Me performance evenings.

What will you do as a board member in the social team?

In total, there are two board members who focus on social media and all on- and offline communications. Together, you manage the social media channels, take care of the design of all communication outputs and contribute ideas during meetings. In addition, you are the face of My Muse & Me and enjoy getting other young people excited about opera and ballet.

The role of board member within the social team is unpaid. You can expect to spend an average of about 4 hours per week on the role. The workload can vary from week to week, so it is helpful if you can be flexible.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

• Is curious about opera and ballet and enjoys sharing this with others;
• Can translate their creativity into social media posts and marketing strategies;
• Has experience with graphic design in any design or layout programme;
• Has experience with editing and/or photo editing;
• Can ensure that MM&M’s tone of voice is engaging and consistent across all channels;
• Has a hands-on mentality;
• Is up to date with the latest trends on social media;
• Can identify with the target group of My Muse & Me;
• Is available for 4 hours per week and flexible when needed.
